SAFETY NO. 1 PRIORITY
Safety Month June 2008
The purpose is to reemphasise the importance of safety to all its employees and stakeholders during the Safety Month.
Safety Month at Lafarge Malayan Cement was held from 16 June to 27 June 2008. Our employees and stakeholders who are contractors, suppliers, customers and the community where we operate were engaged in various activities and events related to health and safety during this period.
In addition, there were two safety conferences that were organised specially for our contractors, transporters and drivers.
The Industrial Safety Conference held on 21 June 2008 mainly for contractors was to instil greater safety awareness and to share the systems and tools developed by Lafarge to build together a safety culture and to achieve zero accident.
On 22 June 2008, Logistics Safety Conference was held. It was an event designed to change the mindset and behaviour of drivers and transporters in order to achieve accident free culture on the road.
